不同於中國習俗與文化中對於春節“闔家團圓”的描述,王忱基於自身的獨特經歷,用表演和真實的影像結合,表現了略顯陰暗的春節記憶。在作品《都是假的》中,王忱用激烈誇張的表演,極端濃烈的紅色燈光和扭曲變形的春節聯歡晚會錄像,批判了中式儒家文化中虛假刻板的家庭關系,習慣渲染與誇大歌舞升平的媒體,以及只為歌頌太平盛世,淪為宣傳工具的電視聯歡晚會。

 

They All Fake

 

Being different from the description of the Spring Festival in Chinese folk, Wang Chen showed her antipathy of the Spring Festival. Chen mingles her performance, uneasy red lighting, and real media archive of Chinese Spring Festival Gala in her video, based on her memory.

In They All Fake, Chen criticizes the stereotype of false intimate family relationship in Chinese Confucian culture. She also criticizes the Chinese media with they creating false happiness and the Chinese Spring Festival Gala, which is the tool of political propaganda.
